Orthodox solution

There is a short story by Gala Galaction which says that a serial killer wanted to convert to Orthodoxy, but he had killed almost 100 people. But he wants to convert and not stop the kills. To convert and keep on killing. The guy kills the few priests/monks who tell him that he should stop with the kills, he can’t join Orthodoxy and still keep on killing people. He reaches the 99 limit, and knows that at 100 he will die. One last person tells him that it’s OK to join Orthodoxy and still keep on killing. But prior to continuing his kills, he should do some rituals. And he prays for lots of years in a church. At some point, he does a good deed by killing a person (he kills one devilish person who wants to marry an innocent person) and dies and presumably goes to heaven. There is a saying in Romanian proverbs which says you can’t do impure, lust actions (the proverb is more plastic) and still have your soul in heaven. While this is true, there are some exceptions to this rule, which fascinate me. See the above example. The guy kills not for himself, to derive pleasure of killing, but for others, to help others. It’s really tough for me how you can have sex for the good of others :) , yet the general principle that you can do some things and still be an Orthodox is a nice one.

Follow-up lansare București – “Cine ești tu, doctore?” – Biblioteca Națională, 19 februarie 2013

În data de 19 februarie 2013, a avut loc, la Biblioteca Națională, lansarea din București a cărții “Cine ești tu, doctore?”. “Cine esti tu, doctore?” este primul manual de branding pentru doctori. Este scrisa de dr. Nicolae-Iordache IORDACHE si Olivian BREDA. Raspunde generos la intrebarile: – De ce au nevoie medicii de un brand de doctor consistent si autentic? – Ce pot face ca sa isi construiasca acest brand? – Raspunde doar partial la intrebarea: Cum sa faci cele de mai sus? SEO & above

People come to me for strategies regarding Search Engine Optimization (SEO). What I try to make them realize that almost always there is more than one possible path. Online: Sure, SEO is great. But you may want to consider PPC Marketing (Google AdWords, Facebook Ads). You may consider hiring a copywriter (freelancer?) to write articles for your blog. You may want to have social media strategy. There is also an option of using public relations as a promotion method. Offline: But you can go offline, also. Telemarketing (calling past clients, for example). Billboards placed closed to where your business is. Flyers. Mail marketing (yes, the classic one). TV, radio and newspaper ads. Networking with the right people. Organizing events with your clients and partners. Doing training for your staff. My point is: SEO is a great tool, but you should consider a strategy, as a whole. You can work on different things, which bring different results. SEO should be part of a bigger picture. SEO is not the path, but one path.

The wrong perception on Internet marketing. And the right one

There are two perceptions on what Internet marketing is: A guy in the middle of the street, with a big megaphone, yelling about your services. “Buy from us! We’re good! Buy from us! Expiring offer! Buy! Buy! Buy!”. Winner in this scenario is the guy who can yell loudest, to the largest number of people, with the least resources. By following this path, you can get easily into spamming. A guy in a closed building, talking with a normal voice about things. Persisting in this until he has a small audience. Inspiring that audience to believe that he actually knows what he talks about. Making those people want to tell others about the product/service. Creating fans & communities, by providing the desired quality of products & services. Making everybody feel good, and telling others. In other words, putting free megaphones in other people. Letting other people promote the brand. Unfortunately, a lot of times when people come to me for Internet marketing services, they expect me to have a big megaphone and to start yelling. They are, themselves, too embarrassed to yell by themselves, so they tend to give others the “chance” to speak. And when they to speak, not-so-great things happen. The other solution, creating content which is actually very good & inspiring, is hard. You have to come up with a good idea, work hard to make it polish, and create a community. Not so easy. It’s much easier to break the rules and start spamming.

Invitatul de această dată este istoricul Adrian-Silvan Ionescu, doctor în științe istorice – specialitatea istorie modernă universală. Cei doi profesori au dezvaluit mărturiile inedite și impresiile memorabile, pe care le datorăm unor Călători străini în Țările Române.
