“Could you give me an example?” – a question that’s more powerful than you may initially think
Sometimes, you might hear, during a job interview, or talk with a psychologist, or just a friendly chat – “Could you give me an example?”.
At first, when I used to hear this question, it felt silly – “It’s just an example, it doesn’t mean much”. After some thinking, I got to the opposite conclusion. Why is that?
Young thinking vs. Adult thinking
I was once in an online forum, and a lady in there once said something similar to this: “You person X, are young. You have certainties, you know for sure. You’ll see, as you’ll grow older, that things tend to balance, that there are grey areas, that options come in multiple ways, that sometimes thinking A is a good option, while in other circumstances thinking non-A, the opposite of A, is a good option, also. You’ll find out that options are flexible, and there are multiple solutions on the table, not just one”.
I liked that, thus I remembered it all these years, but at first I didn’t agree with this.
Let me tell you a story, first, and then come up with some conclusions.
Why don’t I use UTM tags?
UTM tags are things which make a URL like this:
http://site.com/page-from-website
look like this:
http://site.com/page-from-website?utm_campaign=website_launch&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook
The latter URL can give additional details in Google Analytics.
So, why don’t I use them?

Sometimes, when I walk in Năvodari, I see some familiar faces. And, for a while, I wonder if I know these people from Bucharest. Then I realize that they just can’t be here, in Năvodari.
It’s an interesting phenomenon.

MeasureCamp is an open, free-to-attend unconference, for the analytics community who make MeasureCamp what it is. Due to the ever-increasing demand and limited supply of tickets, we limit the number of tickets to 3 per company.
MeasureCamp will return with a virtual edition on July 11, 2020! Organisers from MeasureCamps from all over Europe have created the MeasureCamp experience in the virtual world.
We will use the Remo platform for our virtual meeting. MeasureCamp will have the same mix of presentations, discussions, and random chats with old friends and strangers as you would find at any MeasureCamp. Due to the limitations of the platform, Virtual MeasureCamp will aim for 150 attendees.
Virtual MeasureCamp will open at 9am CEST. The first session will start at 11am CEST and the last sessions due to end at 5pm. Just like any other MeasureCamp, there will be eight 30-minute sessions, with 6 rooms, and up to 48 sessions during the course of the day.This is MeasureCamp, after all, and there certainly will be an afterparty!
