I have some poor memories, times when I did wrong, times when I wasn’t treated as expected. Still, the good memories in my life are so important that they far outweigh the difficult times.
“How did you get those poor memories? Through luck – see, I have some poor, but also some very good memories!”.
I’m so lucky that I have some poor memories, which make the good memories really shine!
I never really had some money on my own. I started having some budgets and money to spend after I finished high-school.
Although I always had plenty of things, and food, and shelter, and fun, and all sorts of pleasures, I never had a big sum of money at my disposal, some things were off-limits. I didn’t live a poor childhood, but, certainly, not a rich one. (OK, if you say “rich” = food + education + love + shelter + some pleasures, then, yes, we were rich)
In the whole childhood, we only went on a trip outside visiting some relatives two or three times. I still have some rather strange travel habits.
So, when I was about 19, I started having some budgets and some money to spend. I made huge mistakes with money for a while, I had no clear way of handling them, I wasn’t aware of what’s expensive and what’s cheap, why should I buy from a supermarket instead of a nearby store, why sometimes the nearby store was the better option, and so on.
It took me a while to get accustomed to the idea of having money, on how to budget them, and to know what’s more important than having money.
As a lesson out of all of these, if you have children, I’d consider giving them a little budget. They will make mistakes, for sure, but sometimes it’s better to make a mistake when you’re 15 than when you’re 20.
If you look at the grades of the movies on IMDb, most of the popular movies fall between 6 and 7.5. If it’s above that, it’s likely a good movie, if it’s below that, it’s likely a very poor one.
Sure, there are certain specificities to this: comedies don’t get good grades on IMDb, you’ll rarely see a comedy having a good grade.
Also, action-movies, more recently, especially if they have some special effects, tend to get high grades.
I prefer watching movies with a grade above 7, but don’t always do so.
Also, for the movies in IMDb Top 250, I prefer to see them again as time goes by. It’s one thing to see the Godfather when you’re 20, and another thing to see it again 20 years later.
When I grade a movie, I tend to give it a minimum 8, 10 if it’s highly good, a 9 if it impressed me somehow. Recently, I haven’t given grades below 8, and even if I do, not less than 7. I think that the movie creators deserver a bit of appreciation, even if I don’t agree with the ideas in a movie 100%.
I follow a similar principle on Goodreads, where I give most books 3/4 stars, and to the top books 5 stars.
În opinia mea, dacă vrei să te înveți să sortezi 100 de fișiere de pe desktop, fă să prelucrezi 30 de fișiere pe zi, fă haos total, sortează atât de mult, că te forțezi să devii foarte bun la asta, prin multă experiență.
Dacă vrei să faci un sistem foarte bun, supune-te unor condiții intense, aglomerează-te, fă-ți viața grea, și vei reuși să te descurci bine.
Am tot citit în online “nu te implica în multe proiecte, mai bine mai puține și bune”. În opinia mea, lucrurile nu merg astfel. E mai bine, zic eu, să faci multe proiecte, să eșuezi la unele, să gafezi, dar să înveți constant, să te supra-soliciți, să te forțezi la mai bine. Cred că ieși mai câștigat și mai eficient astfel, supra-forțându-te să faci lucruri.
Un evreu care avea mulți copii și era foarte necăjit, merge să se plângă la rabin:
– Rabi, ce să fac? Nu mai pot suporta! Casa mea e un iad! Copii mulți, toți țipă, toți se bat, soția mea îi ceartă toată ziua, ei plâng, vin la mine și-mi spun, ea vine și ea, o hărmălaie la mine în casă – mereu dezordine și ceartă, nu mai pot, înnebunesc, simt că mor! Ce să fac?
– Ai găini?
– Da!
– Timp de o săptămână băgă și toate găinile în casă și ține-le acolo cu voi . apoi vino și-mi spune cum e.
Peste o săptămână vine iar evreul. rabinul îl întreabă cum e.
– Cum să fie rabi? mai rău ca înainte copiii plâng, nevasta țipă, peste tot găinaț, găinile cotcodăcesc, înebunesc, nu mai pot… spune-mi ce să fac?
– Bagă și porcul în casă cu voi iar peste o săptămână vino și-mi spune cum e.
Peste o săptămână vine evreul și la fel se plânge, iar rabinul îl pune să bage și vaca în casă…
După încă o săptămână de stat în casă cu copiii, nevastă, găinile, porcul și vaca, vine evreul iar la rabin iar acesta îi spune să scoată vaca din casă și peste o săptămână să vină să-i spună cum e…
– Ei, rabi, parcă e mai bine… nu mai e vacă, nu mai e balegă, e oarecum mai bine..
Rabinul îi spune să scoată și porcul iar peste o săptămână la fel procedează și cu găinile.. Apoi îl întreabă?
-Ei, acum cum e la tine în casă??
-E minunat rabi! Numai eu copiii și nevasta în casă! O! Nu mai am ce să-mi doresc! Sunt de-a dreptul fericit!
Când unii oameni oferă spre vânzare un laptop la mâna a doua, se gândesc că alternativa e să iei același produs nou, fără o anumită promoție.
Eu nu consider că asta e alternativa. Alternativa e să iei un laptop nu identic, ci similar, la o promoție de 10-15%, în condiții normale. Adică fără să te stresezi, găsești produs similar la un preț cu 10-15% mai mic decât prețul curent.
Dar dacă faci un efort și cumperi laptopul cu ocazia unor reduceri mai mari, poți găsi la 20-30%.
Și brusc reducerea de 40-60%, comună la SH, nu mai e atractivă.
De ce aș lua un laptop cu 50% mai ieftin, nou, când de Black Friday pot găsi un produs similar la un preț doar o idee mai mare, și nou?
Ca o concluzie, oamenii compară “Laptop nou vs. Laptop Second-hand” la prețul de listă. Ideea e însă că ai mereu opțiuni mai bune, când cauți astfel de laptopuri.
Când merită să cumperi produs la mâna a doua?
