Why do I like to choose for meetings both the start and end times?
It’s nice to go and meet some friends for a whole afternoon, but, other than that, I find it better to set a schedule.

The perseverance, the continuous search, the struggle.
It’s all so real!
Once, I wanted to install an internal floppy disk drive on my own.
As you might expect, it didn’t work.
I returned it, but it would have been better if I went to a specialist, and avoided taking any risks.
I wanted to change a UPS battery until someone informed me of the enormous voltage stored in there. I stopped immediately and canceled any thoughts of doing this on my own.
Once, I once tried to connect a power source to a graphics card. It didn’t go well.
At some point, I tried to defragment a hard drive, but it broke the hard drive. I did this a few times.
Asking for help is never wrong.
I know someone who likes to speak about politics.
Yet, when taking action, that person has room to improve – it rarely votes, doesn’t volunteer in the field, doesn’t start a party.
Yes, it’s nice to know a lot of things about sports, but how about doing sports, instead?
Instead of watching a 90-minute match of football, how about running for 15 minutes and doing some push-ups?
I don’t think most people can predict what will happen.
Many years ago, a friend asked me – „I want to launch a website with funny videos and things like that”.
I told him such a website has no chance, there are plenty of websites doing this already.
I was wrong, 9GAG later went on to become a successful website with just funny things.
It wasn’t that known in Romania back then, so there was a niche worth exploiting.
The solution? Do a lot of predictions in lots of areas and some will stick.
Most – won’t.
I used to make a long list of URLs.
I delayed opening those links to add them to an internal procedure.
When I opened them, because years passed, some of them were no longer relevant.
If you postpone a task long enough, it might solve by itself.
Sometimes, if you’re on time for a meeting between a few people, you’re already late.
The reason? You’ll miss the quite pleasant discussions prior to the meeting.
This is one of the reasons why online meetings tend to be stressful – everyone is on point, trying to focus on getting a result.
A better solution? Give some time for small talk, for chit-chat.

For NGOs, I find that donation-matching is a strong incentive to donate.
So, if I’m an NGO and I want to get more donations, I could use it quite a lot if I would be able to convince a company to do matching donations.
It’s likely not an easy task, but it could be worthwhile.
Multiplying the good in the world.
I have this habit – I want to watch movies to be able to carry a good conversation.
I think this is part of my job – I work in online marketing, I need to know what’s in popular culture.
This doesn’t mean watching all of the superhero movies, but, still, I need to know the basic stuff.
