Just as it is almost proverbial that, if you want any business done for you, you should ask a busy man to do it, and not a man of leisure, so it is the laborious scholar, who is working hard at languages, who picks up, nay, actually reads and studies more of other subjects than the rest of his fellows at school or college.

I know a person who told me to organize an event with an HR trainer. I did it, and it was a good idea, we had a few sessions.

One friend suggested I should organize a series of events. I did it and it went well.

Another friend suggested we should join our little forces and create a big event. We did it.

One friend asked me to co-author a book. I did it.

I’m amazed on how well it went for me while saying „Yes” to opportunities.

Too important to waste time on small things

Once, a friend told me – „I hope you’ll become someone important because you avoid doing small chores”.

Thoughts:

  • I should have done the small things; even if I considered myself to be the busiest man in the world;
  • I don’t think I became a great man; once, I told a person I’m a freelancer, and that person was curious if I wanted something more in my life.

Small chores are important, kids! :)

Îmi place acest citat.

Te face să te îndemne să poți ierta, să ai o mică umilitate.

Să nu iei viața neapărat în foarte tragic, dramatic și exagerat.

Să vezi un ghiocel ca un capăt al unei ierni lungi.

Să te axezi pe partea bună, chiar dacă ai și motive să îți faci griji.

„Este OK să eșuezi uneori, important este să încerci.” – cam asta ar fi ideea de bază a celor de mai sus. De încercat, de asumat posibilitatea de eșec, de zbătut și de făcut să reușești.

Merită să analizezi înainte, să te pregătești, să anticipezi.

Dar, la finalul zilei, trebuie să îți asumi un risc și să încerci să faci ceva.

Antreprenor, început, pornire, start-up, lansare, demaraj, antrepriză.

I think it’s the other way around. Life is very objective, and what we have in mind is a personal perception.

What Gabriel García Márquez got right is that the metaphor is more important to you than the reality.

If to you „1 + 1 = 3”, that’s more important than the actual truth. But just for you.

The author wants to say here, probably, that metaphors and imagery are so important that they become flesh, they enter into a concrete way.

In this sense, I like the quote.
