“A religious person does something wrong”. Ooo, that’s complicated to analyze. This is quite simple, actually.

A. On a very simple level, you can judge things like this:

  • You have ethics, moral code, religion. You do good.
  • You live without them, you do good or you do less good. You have options.

B. On a little more complicated level:

  • You have ethics, moral code, religion. You try to do good. You fail & do something wrong.
  • You live without them, you do good or you do less good. You have options.

Most people stop at this. “Uuu, look at that person! That person has a moral compass, abides by the rules, has a moral code, follows a religion. If that person does something wrong, the system is wrong”. Actually, I think that it’s quite natural for the religious person to do wrong. It’s a very simple step.

C. I think there’s a third level to all these, in which nothing is what it seems, anymore. I’ll detail this in this article.

Seeing all the countries in the world

“Graham David Hughes (born 1979) is a British adventurer, filmmaker, television presenter and Guinness World Records holder. Graham successfully visited all United Nations member states without flying.” (source) See the video below: Not a big fan: He spent only a small amount of time in most of the countries. If your objective is just to check a country for a few hours, then to checklist it, OK, he got that. But, generally, people travel with more reasons than check listing – “Oh, I’ll visit them all”. Yes, I admire his perseverance and efforts, and I envy his success. But with all this “let’s get it over with, there are hundreds of countries to visit, hurry!”-philosophy, I’m not a big fan.

The Smurfs 2 (2013)

The Smurfs 2 (2013)

I recently saw The Smurfs 2 (2013). Some feed-back? What did I like? Pleasant characters, I enjoyed it. The movie was, at times, funny. Not all the movie. Quite relaxing & joyful. What I didn’t like as much: The story is not coherent. At times, it goes from A to B without a clear logic. Quick changes, sudden changes, no smoothness. Not realistic. Having a huge wheel go through Paris without hurting people is not realistic. Plain weird. The negative guy turns positive and then negative again, just like that. The smurfs where supposed to be caring & happy & joyful & a family. Yet, at the beginning of the movie, they make classifications and decide who is worth going on the trip and who isn’t based on skill. (more) The bad guy, Gargamel, really suffers in the movie. Physical pain & stuff. I didn’t like that as much.

“Yes, I am wrong, but I am wrong because of … and this makes things right! Let me tell you more about the reasons for being wrong!”

ideas

In a recent training, I had the time & opportunity to reflect more on sayings such as this:

“Yes, I am wrong, but I am wrong because of … and this makes things right! Let me tell you more about the reasons for being wrong!”

In my opinion, people tend to create justifications. So, if you ask me if I want to go into town with you, can’t just say “no”, I have to explain you why I do so. If you ask me to do something, I can’t just say “I won’t do it”, instead, I’ll have to focus on providing a good reasoning for this. My view on this?

Why am I irritated?

temp

Two states:

  • Happy in non-intese way, joyful, pleased with the world, not caring, zen-like. Not productive.
  • One of the two:
    • Extremely happy about everything, motivated by extreme happiness, laughter, positive states. Productive. I argue that this is a very hard to keep state, and instead people go to…
    • Upset, annoyed, unhappy, non-pleased, motivated by stress, irritated. Productive. I argue it’s the place where most things in life lead you to. I am in this state.

I discussed about these two states (zen, and either extremely happy or extremely irritated) in what I consider to be the best article I’ve written (it’s in Romanian).

I am upset. Why is that?

Planes (2013)

Planes (2013)

Planes (2013) – IMDb – the problem with this movie is that they kept exaggerating. You can’t go from first to last, then again last, then again first (everybody else just seems to keep their positions, the real fight is only for the first place). You can’t take a few training lesson from an ex-military and all of a sudden be much better than anybody else who flies in the competition. You can’t have a problem with heights the whole movie, and then you just stop having this. You can’t lose your place in the formation in the previous-to-last step in the race and then continue the race in the last stage as if nothing happened. You can’t have a stalled engine, and via the mere power of high altitude currents be better than the top performer. You can’t beat your system so easily (a plane built for agriculture be better than another one built for races), with no reasoning for this. You can’t get to be the second to finish the race, milliseconds behind the winner, and everyone to boo you. These are questions you can’t answer just like that – “well, it’s not anymore”. You can beat your condition, but it shouldn’t be at a blink of an eye. You need more than this. Things are soooooo much exaggerated.
