  • A rather cool movie.
  • Great images; the sound was more than fine.
  • The actors played well.
  • Good script.
  • Nice balance between very futuristic planes and old planes. Also – very new technology vs. old technology.
  • Also, good balance between old and new actors/characters.
  • It’s not a perfect 10, but it’s more than a 9.

In movies (especially action movies), a hero needs to show vulnerability according to Chris Stuckmann:

An example is „Mad Max: Fury Road” (2015):

A lot of movies have the „Superman issue,” as I like to call it – the hero is perfect, with no vulnerability, no issues, no faults.

A hero with faults is a better hero, in my opinion.

Despre The Batman (2022)

Am văzut „The Batman” (2022).

Un rezumat foarte scurt: filmul mi se pare foarte bine făcut, te pune în atmosferă, te provoacă, are suspans, muzică, grafică, emoții intense.

Mai mult decât atât, în film sunt vulnerabilități – nu e vorba în film despre Superman, care câștigă toate bătăliile, e invincibil, ci de un erou vulnerabil (pe tema asta: 1, 2).

Ca parte mai puțin plăcută, nu mi-a lăsat un gust plăcut. E ca o ciocolată neagră – sănătoasă, cu cacao, fină, dar la sfârșit nu mai vrei o a doua bucată.

Ca o comparație, „Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion” (1997) este un film foarte slab tehnic, dar care mi-a plăcut mult și l-am revăzut.

„The Batman” te face să visezi rău noaptea.

Îl consider un film pentru cinefili, dar nu pentru cei care vor să se simtă bine după un film.

Mi-ar fi plăcut un film deștept și atât, fără altă miză, cum sunt – „Tenet” (2020) sau „The Dark Knight” (2008). „The Batman” (2022) face multe lucruri foarte bine, dar la emoții e atât de credibil încât simți cum îți intră carne. Dacă asta îți dorești de la un film, foarte bine, eu vreau să mă simt bine după ce văd un film.

I would like to present a small comparison between Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) and Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003) and Kill Bill: Vol. 2 (2004):

  • Both are visually stunning.
  • Kill Bill is much more bloody.
  • Mad Max is almost entirely made of action.
  • Kill Bill has a better script.
  • The music is great, though it’s different.
  • I like both of them a lot.
  • Both have great actors and directors. Quentin Tarantino is more known than George Miller.

Mr. Rogers (A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood (2019)): At the end, Rogers asks the dying man to pray for him. When Lloyd asks Rogers why, he responds, “Someone who is suffering that much must be very close to God.” While Rogers never said this about Junod’s father, in the original profile, he does ask a boy with cerebral palsy he visited in California to pray for him, saying, “I asked him because I think that anyone who has gone through challenges like that must be very close to God.” (A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood accuracy: Fact vs. fiction in the Mr. Rogers movie.)

I love that quote, it’s so nice. Sufferance should be avoided, but when you suffer, you become closer to God.

Doar două idei despre The Harder They Fall (2021):
a. Ca stil, mi-a adus aminte de Tarantino și de Mad Max: Fury Road (2015).
b. Dacă citiți comentariile pe IMDb – „filmul e foarte bun! Nota sau 7 sau 8”. Ideea e că pe IMDb nu dă bine să dai o notă bună unui film de acțiune, sună rău. Poți zice că e film bun, dar nu îi dai 10.

Mie mi-a plăcut mult fimul.

I watched some episodes of The Office (TV Series 2005–2013).

Initially, if left me an image of being a show which has nothing on my taste.

So, I had some preconceptions – „Oh, see this – I don’t like this habit at all”.

After actually seeing a few episodes, I realized I like the shows just for that – the things that annoyed me without seeing the movie are actually the strong points.

There’s this quote from Begin Again (2013) that I like a lot:

– What?
– One of the most banal scenes is suddenly invested with so much meaning, you know? All these banalities, they’re suddenly turned into these… these beautiful, effervescent pearls. From music.
I’ve got to say, as I’ve gotten older, these pearls are just… becoming increasingly more and more rare to me.
