Let’s say you want to resist doing something. How do you do that?
According to a study nicely explained by Joachim de POSADA, the solution is quite simple:
– Delayed gratification – think of the benefit you can get of resisting the urge to do that thing;
– Distraction – focus your mind on something else, snap out of it.
PS, 2018.08.03: some people, after finding out about the famous Stanford marshmallow experiment, suggested one shouldn’t eat the marshmallow at all. :)
