I knew the songs prior to seeing the musical, but I didn’t see the play, so I didn’t understand the script well until today.
The script was nice. Twists, remembering the first part, surprise moves, drama. Nice.
The actors played well (Ben Lewis as The Phantom and Anna O’Byrne as Christine).
The visual part of the play was nice (decors, costumes).
What I didn’t like were the most important part of the play – the songs. It was OKish, not bad, not awful, but not 10/10, either. There’s almost no song I really liked. Sure, nice tunes, it’s OK to listen to them once in a while, but nothing to put on repeat for a long time.
I didn’t get almost any emotion while watching the show and, also, while interesting, the script didn’t keep me entertained. It was OKish, but no all that interesting.
Do I recommend seeing this play? If you’ve seen “The Phantom of The Opera”, sure, why not? It’s a continuation. Other than that? I give it an 8/10. You decide.
