Sometimes, you want to help people, you care, you get involved, you apply all the magic you can, from your will to your energy and resources.
And, at the end of the day, instead of caring, you prove you actually scare people off.
There is the story of the Boy Scout who firmly takes the arm of an old lady and helps her across the street, only to find that she didn’t want to cross the street.
This might be the situation with wanting to help by all means. There is such a thing as “too much help”.
“Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.
Matthew 7:6 New International Version (NIV).
