My favorite movie is Le Notti di Cabiria; I’ve recommended it to others; some have seen the movie as pessimistic, depressing and sad; I see it as a great hope for life / humanity / purpose of life.
The Stockdale Paradox is, in my opinion, on the same side with me.
Explained, by Jim COLLINS, the paradox goes like this (details):
You must retain faith that you will prevail in the end, regardless of the difficulties.
AND at the same time…
You must confront the most brutal facts of your current reality, whatever they might be.
This is, in my opinion, the essence of pretty much everything; a hear-tearing paradox leading to hope.
