Let’s say you want to type a password – “johnny b”. Instead, you type “jho”, then you realize you wrote wrongly. There are two options to delete things:
- Just delete the last two letters, just the ones which have been typed wrong.
- Delete the whole word, type right from the beginning.
The first solution is more efficient, you delete less and type less.
As a paradox, it’s best to do the second thing, it will help you memorize the correct way of typing Johnny. :)
