Buying fruits & vegetables from the supermarket

Buying fruits & vegetables from the supermarket

Until recently, I tended to buy green stuff (vegetables, fruits) from the peasant’s market. After a bit of thinking, I decided:  It’s always OK to buy exotic stuff from the supermarket (I used to do this, already). Buying from peasants gives you a possibility – the fruits & veggies may come from people who don’t do fertilizers. Buying from the supermarket gives you a certainty – you certainly know the origin, and you should know that they generally did things which are legal to the products. I used to see all of the advantages of a peasant’s market, and none of the supermarket’s. Now I see no reason to avoid buying Romanian grapes from Carrefour. I can buy them from peasant’s market, but I can also buy them from Carrefour. It’s about the same.

Protecție anti-spam office[at]office.com

Vezi asta frecvent: “Scrieți pe office AT gmail DOT com”. “Trimiteți mail la ionel {at} yahoo {punct} com”.

How to double the space in Gmail, without losing your email address

Gmail offers about 8 GBs of data for free right now. If that’s not enough, and you want to keep your current email address, you can do the following: You have an old Gmail (A) Create a new Gmail address (B). Forward all new mail from the old address (A) to the new one (B) and set to automatically trash the new mail in mail A (it will count in the space only prior to permanent deletion by gmail, which takes some 30 days). Set to never send to SPAM, always to forward. Set B to send mail as A (you use mail B, but you may send as mail A). This is pretty much it.

What title to put on a business card?

Paul KEWENE-HITE (Paul Kewene-Hite | LinkedIn) said, last night (“Entrepreneurship: Embracing Uncertainty” INSEAD MBA Master Class follow-up (photos), 2012.04.03, Radisson BLU Hotel – Get a result now!), a thing similar to this (approximate quote):

Most people have business cards with titles – “I’m a marketing manager”. Instead, they should focus on skills – “I can help you with creating your brand, I can design flyers, I have skills in product development”.

How to have a care-free phone

Sometimes, my phone, in the pocket, does strange things, like calling people. Two days ago, it rang a person, the first in my address book. And I thought of a thing to prevent this from going wrong. The solution? Put in the address book first persons with whom you have a very good relation and with whom the cost of a call won’t be high (same network, for example). So, I added four “Aa. First name Last name” contacts in the address book (actually, I renamed old ones). And now I’m happy with the result. :)
