Always, always follow-up
I see this quite often – people forget to follow-up.
Do I do this myself? Yes. I try to correct this, though.
There are little reasons not do to a follow-up.
Stuffing Stuff
Sometimes, I find myself in a dilemma – Should I buy this or not? (see – George Carlin Talks About “Stuff” – YouTube)
I generally find the answer by keeping asking – “Will I use this item on the long run?”. Or, in other terms: “Do I find myself keeping using the item, day after day?”.
It’s helpful to look at a possible item on those terms.
The solution to not stuffing your house with items you don’t need is asking yourself – “Will I enjoy the item as time passes? Day after day? Or will it be the tattoo that will be difficult to get rid of?”
Notificare piese de teatru noi
Am descoperit recent următorul lucru – dacă mă interesează un spectacol, pot să scriu la Google

Și să deschid pagina spectacolului pe MyStage. Pot acolo să mă abonez la notificări, și să primesc mesaj prima oară când spectacolul devine disponibil pentru a cumpăra bilete.
Abia am aflat de asta, nu am testat. De asemenea, nu toate teatrele sunt pe MyStage.
Merită, totuși, încercat.
Husă pentru telefon
O vreme luam de pe Amazon.de husele. Și intrai la culori și de obicei era promoție la culorile standard (gri, negru, ceva în genul). Dacă voiai colorată mai “viu” era mai scumpă.
Și pentru €1 sau €2, luam husa mai ieftină, “că nu contează culoarea”.
Regret acum, și aș prefera o husă colorată mai intens.
Altfel, am avut aproape permanent husă la telefon.
Iar unde husa nu se poate aplica (camera foto, uneori, depinde de tipul de husă, și pe ecran), pun și folie.
Prefer husele flip cover.
Ghid convertire cărți folosind Calibre
Programul software Calibre este foarte simplu: se instalează (disponibil pe majoritatea platformelor) și se convertesc cărți.
Cel mai frecvent – în și dinspre ePUB sau Mobi. Sunt însă foarte multe formate posibile.
Dacă nu vă descurcați cu Calibre, puteți folosi un convertor. De exemplu, sunt convertoare online de la ePUB la PDF.
În altă ordine de idei, consider formatul ePUB mult mai prietenos pentru a citi materiale online decât cel standard – PDF.
PDF-ul are o structură fixă, indiferent de dispozitiv. Un format ca ePUB permite citirea facilă pe un eBook reader (de exemplu – Amazon Kindle) sau pe mobil (puteți redimensiona pagina, fontul etc.).
Problema cu PDF-ul este zoom-ul pe diferite ecrane și paginația. PDF-ul e făcut să fie citit pe un singur tip de ecran – vertical, și mare. Dacă doresc să citesc un PDF pe mobil, devine complicat. Pe ePUB e mult mai simplu ca informația să se adapteze la ecranul dorit.
Auto Shazam
I agree with this assertion:
“Just gotta say the auto-shazam is such an underrated feature.”
What does it do?
Let’s say you go to an event like a party where there is lots of music, or you go out to a cafe and there is music, or you go to a theater play (note – this might not adhere to the theater’s rules). You just hit Auto Shazam, and at the end of the event, you have a list of the songs that played during that time.
How do you use it?
- Open the Shazam app.
- Tap and hold the Shazam button on the screen.
If you have an iPhone, you can long-press the app on the main screen.

Tip for presenters – take small breaks
I see people speaking at conferences. Sometimes, they rush it—the moment they get an opportunity to talk on the microphone, they act on it. There is no break, no space.
Unfortunately, this isn’t an optimal solution. The best solution, in my opinion, is to take a small break. Don’t rush it. Take a small break prior to speaking, just for a tiny moment.
Even if it’s a large, important, event, you should take a break before speaking.
When you go from the back of the scene to the microphone, don’t rush it. Take a small moment of a break.
On the same note, speak a bit slower. Don’t rush it in.
Sure, in your mind, it’s easy to form an image of what you are about to say.
But, for most listeners, it’s important to be able to follow you. If you speak too quickly, you might be doing a poor thing.
OK, if you’re taking an exam in foreign languages, speaking quickly might prove that you know the language well.
Also, after making an important assertion, take a small pause.
But for the fun of it, take a break, take some breaks.

Gala Galaction and Game of Thrones
I like to read texts written by Gala Galaction.
One reason? I think he does something like (I haven’t read it, it’s rather common knowledge) A Game of Thrones (George R. R. Martin): having a complex world.
Lots of characters, lots of emotions.
You don’t get to see “this is good” vs. “this is bad”.
Instead, you see characters, and they develop, and interact with others.
I like that.
