In Mad Max: Fury Road (2015), the main character is almost constantly in a vulnerable position. You keep wondering not „how will the character succeed?” but, rather, „how will the character manage to survive?”.
In Sisu 2 (2025)/Sisu: Road to Revenge (2025), things go out of proportion. The vulnerability level is so high, you just can’t believe the fact that he isn’t dead yet. And another scene comes, and, somehow, he manages to live. And so on.
You don’t need to see the first Sisu movie to understand this one, but it’s better if you first see it.
Like in Mad Max, very few words get to be said, there is almost constantly some action happening, and the music is spot on.
Fun & suspenseful. Loved it.
10/10
PS, 2025.12.01: In most action movies that involve a conflict, things are exaggerated.
In real life, it’s extremely hard to deal with two opponents; in movies it’s a trifle.
If in real life someone with a gun won’t wait long before using it, in movies the suspense just keeps being stretched out until the main hero escapes.
Then, the opponents are caricatured. If a hero fights 10 secondary characters in a movie plus a main villain, the 10 characters are taken out very quickly, and the real struggle is against the main villain.
So I prefer a movie where at least I have fun and feel good, since realism isn’t exactly common in action films anyway.
