Ce factori determină succesul?

Leo Li - Christian Song "Blessed Are Those Who Accept God’s New Work" | Follow the Work of the Holy Spirit

New psychology research pinpoints personality traits related to wealth accumulation:

Conscientiousness appears to play a crucial role in money management and wealth accumulation, according to new psychology research published in Financial Planning Review. The findings provide evidence that individuals who are more diligent, organized, and hardworking tend to have higher levels of wealth, even after accounting for education and other factors.

Don’t Underestimate the Power of Luck When It Comes to Success in Business:

Beane uses more colorful language, but the point is that Beane is aware that, for all his ingenuity in winning an unfair game, luck or randomness is an inescapable factor in all walks of life — even in baseball.

Giving instructions

Hari K Patibanda - A Pair of Wood Sandpipers fighting for the perch

On my last visit to Bucharest, I once traveled by tram.

At one point, the tram didn’t stop because the respective station was under construction. This thing was not common knowledge, and passengers complained about the driver not stopping the tram.

The tram driver said there’s a sign in the station (but how could the passengers know so that they could have got off one stop before this?).

What would have likely been better? Announcing this: „The next station is under construction, you can get off at this station (the previous one to the one in construction), or the station following the one in construction.”

Yet, the driver put their energy into being aggressive instead of looking for a better solution.

But you are wrong!

Marcin Krawczyk - After your 40's you know right from wrong

It’s so incredibly easy to find a mistake in others’ actions that whenever I hear a complaint that „You do something wrong!” I find myself seeing how I can easily:

  • Either pass the responsibility by showing that it wasn’t 100% my fault.
  • Or find guilt actually at the person giving the blame.

Sure, I make mistakes. I just try to avoid blaming others, knowing that finding 100% blame for one’s actions is not easy. At all.

Onasill ~ Bill - Onasill ~ OFF - For The Holidays - St Catharines Ontario ~ Canada ~ 6-8 Norris Place ~ Old Town Heritage House

„It is worse than a crime, it is a mistake.” – Charles Maurice de Talleyrand-Périgord (1754–1838), French diplomat

Too many messages!

Thomas Hawk - Facebook HQ

Sometimes, people complain to me: „You post too many things, you send too many things, you add too many things!”

How do I interpret this? There is an issue with the quality of the things I post, not with the quantity.

You can go to a long movie and watch it in its entirety if it’s a good movie.

You can read a news website with lots of daily news.

You can visit a humor site and read a lot of good jokes/see funny images.

Doing the same with a low-quality information source? It’s just not the same thing.

When watching a boring movie, even one hour is too much.

Low-quality news source? You close it.

Read/see something not funny to your taste? You leave the website.

The trouble is, while it’s easy to fix the quantity issue, it’s very difficult to fix the quality issue.

So, as a conclusion – I wouldn’t worry about posting hundreds of photos in an album or posting 10 posts on Facebook per day.

But I would worry about the postings being quality ones (or less so).

David Popovici’s aftermath

Adam Drewes - 006 FSU Swim Meet

David Popovici recently lost a race. He was first for three lengths of the race, then lost momentum and the podium in the final length. He was 4th, in the end.

When looking at this, people might say, „Oh, he lost because of so-and-so.”

But what would the same people say if he got a gold medal and set up a record?

It’s easy to come after a battle and make an analysis.

The trouble is that the fight’s result determines the analysis’ contents.

And I consider this to be wrong.
