On luck

A recent reading: Why Selective Colleges Should Be Less So | Psychology Today got me to think on the importance of luck in everyday life.

Of, course, you should do, by the most of your possibilities, to get results by your own work; yet, on some point:
– Some of your health depends on so many external things, that you may consider yourself lucky to be healthy;
– Your career, while it depends a lot on your skills, also can use some luck;
– Your business success depends, in some degree, on luck;
– Your family relationships also hold some luck in them.

Yet, despite it all, what’s the solution? I find this quote to explain it fully:

„I find that the harder I work, the more luck I seem to have” (Thomas JEFFERSON / or some other person, not sure about the exact origin of the quotation)

So, yes, life is (in some part) about luck. But you do have to work.
