Am citit odată că mulți viitori studenți își aleg la ce universitate să meargă cu mare atenție, se uită atent între universitatea A și B. Dar e un criteriu pe care îl ignoră.
La finalul zilei, contează mai mult ce coleg de cameră ai (muncitor sau nu) decât dacă universitatea e în top 5 sau în top 20.
Sigur, contează și universitatea, dar sunt factori aparenți minori (“Cu cine stau în cameră? Păi nu e aleatoriu?”) care conteaza mai mult.

Researchers looked at the 25-foot radius around high-performers at a large technology firm and found that these workers boosted performance in coworkers by 15 percent. That “positive spillover” translated into an estimated $1 million in additional annual profits, according to new research from Dylan Minor, an assistant professor of managerial economics and decision sciences at the Kellogg School.
Of course, the flipside is that bad eggs impact their neighbors, too. Negative spillover from so-called toxic workers is even more pronounced—sometimes having twice the magnitude of impact on profits as positive spillover. Yet, while this toxic spillover happens very quickly, it also dissipates almost immediately once that worker is either fired or relegated to the far physical reaches of the company.
Scriu acest text pentru că mi se pare la modul general o observație utilă. E banală, e ceva super-simplu, știut dintotdeauna.
Dar reamintirile astea, chiar banale, te pot ajuta să iei decizii mai bune. Nu e rău să citești “Cele mai importante 10 principii pentru sănătate”, chiar dacă le știi deja foarte bine.
Am fost în majoritatea carierei mele de până acum freelancer, și m-a atras și perspectiva asta – ce rol joacă un coleg.
