Intentional mistakes

David Acevedo Godoy - Hasta la Cima

I try and answer all my emails and direct messages, as well as I can.

Some people complain that I don’t put enough effort into my emails, that I reply sometimes using a single word or two.

I think that’s a fair observation, indeed I could say more things.

On the other hand, this would just make writing emails take longer, and perhaps this isn’t such a good solution, after all.

Writing atypically

On The Office (TV Series 2005–2013)

There are some writers who write more atypically, a bit more strangely.

If you can connect with what they write, if you can be careful, they give you ideas, help creativity and surprise you.

If it irritates you, and you can’t concentrate on their messages, it’s more unpleasant.

It’s just like The Office (TV Series 2005–2013): the things they irritate you with are actually the ones you’ll like.

Like and Share

Thomas Hawk - Facebook HQ

I do tend to click on the „Like” button on Facebook/Instagram/LinkedIn, just to help me with knowing which posts I’ve already seen.

On the other hand, I generally don’t Like things on platforms such as YouTube/Twitter, there’s no point, at least, to me.

I have better things to do with my life than clicking Like.

Now „Sharing” – that’s an entirely different matter.

Yes, for sharing I do tend to use most networks.

Writing as a self-development tool

Björn - Typewriter

I tend to write content on my blog with one idea – to develop myself.

The article I’m most proud of on this matter (Despre ură. Pe plan personal (eu urăsc) și global (societatea te îndeamnă la ură) – cel mai bun articol pe care l-am scris vreodată și de ce acest lucru e irelevant – Blog de Olivian Breda) took a few days to write and I consider it a key part in my development.

Just going through the process of writing it helped me with becoming a better person.

Search tip for GMail

GMail

Let’s say you want to make some space for your GMail.

In the Search box, type „has:attachment larger:10M.”
This will find emails with attachments larger than 10 megabytes.
You can change 10 to find emails with different sized attachments.

If you decide to delete some emails, don’t forget to empty Trash.
