Binili învingi
(“the good always triumphs” was a motto/line from Radio Guerrilla)
I have friends who prefer to see movies with happy endings.
I don’t quite get this.
I prefer not to know how a movie ends, to see some suspense.
Also, comedies tend to be quite boring.
It’s not easy to make good humor, and most movies have silly lines when talking about humor.
When I go see a play, I prefer it not to be a comedy.
Comedies tend to have low-quality humor and a predictable outcome.
First month we pay less
Sometimes, people say, “we’ll pay you less money in the first month. And then – then we’ll see.”.
There’s a joke like this: “- We’re going to visit the ophthalmologist today at 2 PM. – And then? – And then, we’ll see.”
But sometimes, the first month is the hardest, not the easiest.
Also, people generally quit something to get a new job.
Some CEOs receive starting bonuses just to get a job.
There are no right or wrong recipes; things must adjust to a situation.
Yet, I thinking paying a smaller salary for the first month might be wrong.
The use of stress
You can think about the present without being stressed.
Being “stressful” isn’t helpful to me.
I think the present determines the future – If I’m happy now, I can rewrite my future.
I can rewrite the way I perceive things, even if I can’t influence the things themselves.
“It is what we make out of what we have, not what we are given, that separates one person from another.” ― Nelson Mandela
“What is important is not what happens to us, but how we respond to what happens to us.” ― Jean-Paul Sartre
Extrapolating
There are people who think like this:
People who do one thing a certain way, do all things that certain way.
While this might prove to be true more often than not, I don’t think it’s a universal rule.
It’s much more likely there are shades of gray, rather than a black-and-white world.
On Where the Crawdads Sing (2022)
I liked Where the Crawdads Sing (2022).
Emotional, nice, beautiful.
Wonderful discovery.
The script was so great!
Acting – so and so, but overall – a nice movie.
Nice watch.
It was one of the nicest movies I saw recently.
Not knowing how to keep a woman near you
I heard about this thing, I think, on the blog of a writer I follow.
“Not knowing how to keep a woman near you” – I think this is such a powerful sentence.
On being afraid
I was recently told I’m afraid.
The thing is the difference between doing something stupid and doing something brave is very small.
Each time you do something despite bad consequences you are either being stupid or being brave.
I prefer not to do stupid things.
ChatGPT – OCR – Unknown error occurred (optical character regonition) – How to fix this error?
“Open it in Adobe then Print it and choose “Microsoft Print to PDF” and save that new version wherever you like.”
(via: Unknown Error Occurred when uploading PDF – ChatGPT / Bugs – OpenAI Developer Forum)
It worked! :)
Aferwards, I used this software for better OCR:
Mega Image
I used to think that the only differentiator between Mega Image and other super/hyper-markets is the price (higher) and not being crowded.
I think there’s something else – they select the products to be of top quality.
If you go to pretty much any other supermarket, there’s a lottery – you buy something, you don’t know if it’s a good brand or not.
With Mega Image it’s different – you know it’s a top quality offering.
I like that. :)
