Bucharest, December 5, 2025 – The International Women’s Association (IWA) is organizing the 33rd edition of the International Women’s Charity Diplomatic Bazaar, an international charity fair under the patronage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The event celebrates cultural diversity and the IWA’s 47 years of charitable work in support of vulnerable communities across the country. The fair will take place on December 7, between 10 AM and 4 PM, at the National Library of Romania in Bucharest.

This year’s edition brings together representatives of over 60 diplomatic missions and international communities from all corners of the world present in Romania. Visitors are invited to discover authentic artistic creations, handicrafts, and culinary delights from around the world, which they can purchase as gifts for their loved ones.

The IWA Diplomatic Bazaar provides a space where members of different countries living in Romania can meet and share their own culture in a spirit of solidarity. Over the past 33 years, the fair has become one of the most important international charity events in Romania, building bridges between local and global communities for significant social causes. The funds raised at the charity fair will be directed to associations in Romania working in areas such as human rights, education, health, and the environment.

“The IWA Christmas Charity Bazaar 2025 is an important gathering of public diplomacy, a multicultural celebration of kindness and unity toward the charitable focus of the event: supporting meaningful causes such as children with disabilities through the Caiac Smile mobility project ‘Together for a dream.’ With the funds raised last year, we have already offered nine grants to different associations, impacting over 700 people. The 33rd edition reaffirms our longstanding commitment to cultural diplomacy and to the charity work that remains at the core of our mission,” said Cristina Lazăr, President of the International Women’s Association.

The charity fair is made possible by the work of over 500 volunteers from 60 countries, who take care of the logistical and organizational details of the event.

“Each year, the IWA Diplomatic Bazaar reminds us of the extraordinary power of unity in diversity. This event thrives thanks to the remarkable commitment of over 500 volunteers from 60 countries, whose enthusiasm and kindness turn this gathering into a living example of cultural diplomacy in action. I am deeply grateful for their dedication, which transforms the Bazaar into a celebration of global togetherness, generosity, and shared humanity. Their spirit makes this event not only possible, but truly unforgettable,” said Mrs. Marina Coanda Bundac, Chairlady of the IWA Bazaar.

The event brings together members of the diplomatic corps, businesspeople, members of civil society, and international artists based in Romania.

“The IWA Charity Diplomatic Bazaar is a great public diplomacy event that brings together community spirit with partners from the diplomatic and business worlds in support of meaningful causes. We are happy to be a part of it!”, said H.E. Mr. Giles Portman

British Ambassador in Romania

“For me, the Bazaar is all about team spirit, coming together, contributing our time and energy, and creating something truly positive. It is a wonderful chance to do something meaningful for those who need it most,” said Mrs. Lucie Portman, spouse of the British Ambassador to Romania.

Visitors can participate in a raffle and win airline tickets, as well as a complete 7-day trip, offered at the Greek Embassy stand.

“The IWA Charity Christmas Bazaar has become an annual milestone for the Bucharest diplomatic and business community, joining forces for a good cause and honoring the holiday spirit to share and support those in need. We are proud to participate and contribute,” said H.E. Mrs. Lili Evangelia Grammatika, Ambassador of Greece in Romania.
