How to send a 10 GB file to someone else?

Karon Elliott Edleson - A simple curve....

I find that it’s rather easy to send a large file via Google Drive, or another solution. Most of them are free and offer good upload/download speeds.

On the other hand, I see people using services that allow people to use services (I won’t name them) that allow sending of tens of GBs (gigabytes) of data.

The downside? The download speed is very slow, it takes hours to download a few GBs of data.

Why do people prefer this?

It’s easier to send files via such services than to use Google Drive / One Drive / Dropbox / other services.

But that „easy” comes with a drawback – slow speed.

Preparing

NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center - Marshall, Mirrors, and Mission History with NASA's James Webb Space Telescope

Sometimes, in December, I see people posting carols at the very end of the month.

Wouldn’t it be better to post at the beginning of the month?

I sometimes go to meetings and find that people arrive 5 minutes after the start.

Wouldn’t it be better to arrive earlier?

I take part sometimes to meetings, and find that people came unprepared.

Isn’t it better to read from the start?

I communicate online and find that people jump to questions without doing any homework.

Shouldn’t you first read some things?

Adding Don’t Know or Don’t Want to Answer in questionnaires

Ikhlasul Amal - Questionnaire

I think that adding „don’t know/don’t want to answer” in questionnaires is a good catch-all phrase.

Sometimes, people have issues with the simplest questions.

You ask their phone, but they prefer leaving only an email address.

You ask for their name, but they prefer the questionnaire to be anonymous, without using false data (like giving a false name).

You ask „For how long have you lived in City X?”, but you miss some important detail which makes the question hard to answer.

I’m all in favor of adding „don’t know/don’t want to answer” to questionnaires.

Be transient, be a passer-by, don’t stay put

Peter Thoeny - Quality HDR Photography - Seeing the light at the end of the tunnel

I like this article a lot: fiţi trecători  – JURNAℓ SCOȚIAN.

How do I interpret it ? You should be transient, be a passer-by, don’t stay put.

If you do something wrong, don’t stay in that state.

If something upsets you, don’t keep being upset.

If you love, love with all of your heart, but if you hate, don’t let the hate build a nest in your mind.

Also, change.

Don’t be the same person, stubborn in their sins, stubborn in their bad habits, stubborn in doing wrong.

Give some room to change.

On unpopular opinions

Susan Jane Golding - The Listeners

Sometimes, people say „Look, here’s an unpopular opinion – „.

And they continue saying something which might or might not be true.

But because they started with „I admit, you might not like this”, they are somehow favored.

People might enjoy listening to what they have to say, because they were honest, right from the start.

I find the comment „Here’s an unpopular opinion” rather manipulative.

You say this upfront, just so that then you are allowed to say anything.

It’s like saying „I’m going to say something, but you might not like it”.

Well, in that case, take a leap and either not tell it, or tell it without this game.
