Making people happy

There are two ways of acting:

  • Making all people happy. This likely leads to making no person happy. People pleasers. People who tell an exaggerated number of „Yes”-es. eMAG and Amazon, when trying to answer every possible product.
  • Making very few people happy. Some newspapers do this when they cover an event – they choose a very specific angle, and assume that if 60% of people like this, that is the only solution. Or online stores – they focus on the majority only. Or Google – only the majority.

The solution? As always – the paradox. From time to time, try not to make anyone happy. From time to time, try to make all the people happy.

Strange

File:Apple logo Think Different vectorized.svg

I know people who use this word a lot – „this is strange”.

The thing is – they tend to be strange, themselves.

From Seth Godin:

We Are All Weird: My new book launches today. (Link includes translations to three languages and worldwide availability, too).

What are you going to do with your weirdness? Or the weirdness of everyone around you?

We Are All Weird | Seth’s Blog

My advice?

Don’t even try not to be weird. It’s pointless.

We are all like this.

A long forgotten dream

arbyreed - Personal Items

In 2013 I went to Turkey – Follow-up: Turcia – closing the circle / se închide cercul – Blog de Olivian Breda.

In 2015-2016, I lived for one year in London, after I previously went to London / Ireland.

London/Ireland are the most Western places I’ve been to. Turkey is the most Eastern.

From time to time, I dream about London when I sleep.

From time to time, I remember Turkey when I’m awake.

I long to go back to London/Turkey (Gaziantep, even) sometimes.

Some things never change.

I’ve been to other countries, for these two I long.

Stay on topic!

Todd Petit - Dandelion Seeds

„Stay on topic!” – this is one of the most difficult rules for me to go by when communicating on forums.

If it’s a topic with just a single question, that’s rather easy to do, but if it’s a long thread with lots of discussions, I tend to go off-topic.

In my defense, I think that’s a rather funny way to communicate, and I like that.

But yes, I am off-topic.
