Most emotions are easy:
It’s easy to love,
Easy to hate,
Easy to despise,
Easy to admire,
Easy to be left in wonder.
Not forgiveness.
That’s something else.
Someone does something to you,
And hell breaks loose.
You relive the moment,
The gesture,
The act,
Again and again
In your mind,
And even if you try to forgive,
You can’t forget,
And the memories make forgiveness
One of the most difficult things in life.
You can act as if you have forgiven,
You can treasure,
Help,
Be there,
Show affection,
But, still, remember the bad event,
And never forgive,
Never forget.
