I’ve seen Stan & Ollie (2018) – a movie about Laurel and Hardy. Some thoughts?
- Highly emotional movie. Very powerful.
- I liked the fact that they took the time. Don’t run me through lots of things, keep it at a smaller scale, but go deep.
- The actors were very good.
- I immersed myself in the atmosphere. Good costumes, and visual effects.
- I had a bit of a problem with the script, it was a bit dull.
- The movie had all the required criteria, but the script. I give it an 8/10.
As a side note, my father told me that one time he took me to the cinema (we rarely went) and there was a Stan & Ollie movie (we called them, in Romania, “Stan și Bran”). He told me that I was laughing a lot, and some of the people in the audience were just laughing at my laughter. Very fond of the two great actors.
