How to find out about historical DNS changes? (small tip)

Let’s say you’re interested in buying a web site. It’s a good idea to check on its history.

On a more practical level, if you change the DNS settings and find out that the web site on the new server doesn’t work, you need to know the old DNS. How to find it?
