I once read a poem (or a line, I can’t tell),<\/p>\n

In which it said that whatever thought you had<\/p>\n

A poet was there before you.<\/p>\n

I forgot what the poem was,<\/p>\n

All I know is that it’s from a long time ago,<\/p>\n

Perhaps, who knows?, it was during my high school years.<\/p>\n

But it’s true – when you write a poem<\/p>\n

You tend to go where no one has gone before<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Far, far away, and sometimes even further.<\/p>\n

You stretch the imagination.<\/p>\n

A poet needs comparisons like you wouldn’t dream of,<\/p>\n

Like an atom outside of this Universe,<\/p>\n

He goes with his mind in the obvious<\/p>\n

And uncovers the unseen,<\/p>\n

He associates a flower with a feeling,<\/p>\n

A smell with an emotion,<\/p>\n

And you don’t even know why now have these emotions in you.<\/p>\n

It might be wizardry, who knows?<\/p>\n

PS, 2020.06.26: … aaaaand … I’ve found the quote:<\/p>\n

It is likely a corruption of another quote, \u2018The poets and philosophers before me discovered the unconscious. What I discovered was the scientific method by which the unconscious can be studied.\u2019 Sadly, there is no direct source for this quote either.
