I’ve seen A Star Is Born (2018). Some ideas (with spoilers!)?
- The movie is good. I hesitated giving it an 8 or a 9, but in the end, it’s a 9/10.
- A bit dark for my taste. I wouldn’t recommend seeing it to others. Yes, it’s smart, it gave me ideas, yes, it’s emotional, it engaged me, yet a bit dark. I don’t expect this in a movie I generally recommend.
- Although emotional, it didn’t have too many lessons for me. Yes, I enjoyed going up & down with my emotions, but, still, I would prefer to learn something from it.
- The movie was entertaining, I wanted to see what’s next.
- It was a bit predictable, but not too much. I would have wanted more creative ideas, more atypical solutions to day-to-day problems, but, all-in-all, it wasn’t that bad.
- The songs were great.
- I considered the acting fine, I immersed in the situations, I connected with the actors.
- Speaking of which, the overall atmosphere was great.
- I consider the movie to be smart, well-thought script & ideas.
- Three quotes I liked:
- “You have to say it from the bottom of your soul. If there’s one reason we’re supposed to be here, it’s to say something so people wanna hear it.”
- “- That’s the thing about when you get famous, people start saying your full name. – Well, what do you want… – Just «Jack.»”
- “If you don’t dig deep in your f*** soul, you won’t have legs. I’m just telling you that.”
